Our Story
Born on the Streets. Built by the Community.
StreetReach Support started with a folding table, a pot of soup, and a belief that every person deserves to be seen.
Our Mission
We exist to meet the immediate needs of people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness in our community — with dignity, consistency, and compassion. No barriers. No judgment. Just help.
Dignity First
Every person we serve is treated with the same respect we'd want for ourselves or our families.
Show Up Consistently
We don't cancel when it rains. Our community depends on us, and we take that seriously.
No Red Tape
No ID required. No appointment needed. We believe help should be simple to access.
Community-Led
Our volunteers and donors are our neighbors. This work belongs to all of us.
How We Started
In 2014, founder Steve Medeiros began handing out essential supplies to people in need on the streets. He began cooking extra meals on Sunday evenings and walking them to people she'd see sleeping near the downtown transit station. Within a year, they'd served over 2,000 meals.
What started as one man's Sunday ritual became StreetReach Support — a registered nonprofit with a pantry, a volunteer network and programs that reach hundreds of individuals every year.
The People Behind the Work
Our small staff is backed by hundreds of dedicated volunteers who make this mission possible every week.
Steve Medeiros
Founder & Executive Director
Steve started StreetReach in 2025 with a pot of soup and a conviction that his neighbors deserved better. He leads the organization with the same hands-on spirit he started with.
David Okafor
Director of Programs
David oversees our Street Meal and Basic Needs Pantry programs, coordinating volunteers and ensuring every distribution runs smoothly and with care.
Priya Nair
Community Outreach Coordinator
Priya builds relationships with the people we serve and connects them to additional resources — housing, healthcare, and more — beyond our direct programs.
